Evaluation of European Union's Cooperation with the Pacific Region

This report was prepared by European Commission. This evaluation aims to provide an overall independent assessment of the European Union’s cooperation and partnership relations with the Pacific region over 2006-2012. On the basis of this assessment, it provides recommendations to improve the EU’s current and future strategies, programmes and actions. The evaluation scope covers regional cooperation implemented in 15 Pacific island states1 and four Overseas Countries and Territories of the EU Member States2.

Marshalls Energy Company (MEC); 2014 Power Report

This report was prepared by Marshall Energy company, Inc, (MEC). The information represents the Data collected for the production and distribution of Electricity generated by the Marshalls Energy Company, Inc, (MEC) during the Fiscal year 2014, being 1st October 2013 through 30th September 2014. The data collected comes from paper written hourly log sheets completed by the power plant operators, engineers and administration team. This has been necessary in instances where flow meters or readout meters have failed and required replacement during the data period.

It measures the quarterly changes in prices of a "basket" of goods and services, which are representative of purchases by private households in Palau. Palau 2014 HIES

This report was prepared by the Office of Planning & Statistics, Ministry of Finance. The Palau National Household Income and Expenditure survey (HIES) was implemented over a 12 month period from November 2013 - October 2014. The report is the first generated output of the HIES and it touches information on the survey, interpretation and analysis of data, and an appendix of key expenditure and income tables.

Space Solar Power Generation and the Pacific Islands

This report was prepared by Rupeni Mario. The Pacific island countries are heavily dependent on fossil fuels to meet their increasing energy needs for economic development. The high costs associated with fossil fuels are placing an increasing strain on the economies in the region.  A significant factor in energy usage patterns in Pacific island countries has been attributed to the availability of energy sources as early as the fifteenth century where pollution control was not an issue. People have used what they have been able to get, be it coal, oil, natural gas, wood, etc.
