Cook Islands Power Development Study: Final Report Volume 1 & II

The prime purpose of this study is to assist the government of the Cook Islands (GOCI) to assess the investment for rehabilitation and expansion of electric supply throughout the Cook Islands, including Rarotonga. This report has been modified to be a resourceful document to assist structural reform while continuing to provide a pre-investment analysis for concessionary Bank financing. The project is done so that it is beneficial to outer islands such as Aitutaki, Manihiki, Penrhyn. Attached in this record are Volume 1 (Final Report) and Volume II (Appendixes).

RMI National Energy Policy and Action Plan (NEPAP) 2015 - 2025

This is a publication of the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The NEPAP was prepared by the Energy Planning Division of the Ministry of Resources and Development with the technical assistance from the Energy Programme of the Economic Development Division of the Secretariat of the Pacific Community. The policy review and national consultations were financially supported by the Australian Government, the SPC/EU North Pacific ACP Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Project (North-REP) and the EU Energy Initiative Partnership Dialogue Facility (EUEI PDF).

Papua New Guinea National Energy Policy 2016 - 2020

To transform Papua New Guinea into a globally competitive, newly industrialized, with middle income status and a prosperous country, it needs low cost energy. This will be the impetus for industrialization.

Feasibility of Grid - Connected Wind Power for Rarotonga, Cook Islands - Draft Report

Report published under the PIEPSAP Project via the collaboration of SOPAC, UNDP, European Union and the Government of Denmark. 

This report is based on two documents: The Project Proposal for Grid Connected Wind Power on Rarotonga presented by UNDP Samoa in March 2002 and the Evaluation ofGrid-Connected Wind Electric Power Project Proposals for Rarotonga, Cook Islands, by Chris Cheatham and Gerhard Zieroth commissioned by UNESCAP Bangkok, August 2002.

Wind Resource Assessment Report: Feasibility Study and Project Concept for Aitutaki, Cook Islands.

Wind mapping report for Aitutaki, Cook Islands to determine wind potential and location of windy sites. Report captures:

  1. Aitutaki Wind Atlas Cook Islands
  2. Monitoring months report at Maungapu Site in Aitutaki.

Wind tower was erected on the 14th July 2005, but recorded data started on the 17th August 2005 until 1st May 2006. Data was recovered every month.

The  REP-5  programme  “Support  to  the  Energy  Sector  in  5  Pacific  Island  States”  is  a  regional initiative  being  implemented  by  the  Pacific  Islands Forum  Secretariat  (PIFS)  supported  with funding  from  the  9thEuropean  Development  Fund  (EDF9).

Niue Strategic Energy Road Map 2015 - 2025

The Niue Strategic Energy Road Map 2015–2025(NiSERM) builds on the 2005 Niue National Energy Policy and the Niue National Strategic Plan (NNSP) 2014–2019, and is aligned to current national, regional and international emerging issues relating to the energy sector. The Government of Niue (GoN) decided to develop the NiSERM to guide the whole-of-country approach towards achieving a vision shared by the government, public stakeholders, private operators, communities and development partners, the vision of: A sustainable and secure energy sector.
