Visit to Tonga, 28 to 30 October 1987

Installation of Ground Receiver Unit in Tonga for Buoy Transmission: Waverider Programme : A visit was carried out to Tonga between the 28th to 30th October 1987. The purpose of the visit was to install the ground receiver unit at a favorable site where the buoy transmission could be received, power would be available, and the unit and processing PC could be attended daily in a secure compound.

An economic assessment of renewable energy, options for rural electrification in Pacific Island Countries

The aim of this study is to conduct an economic and financial evaluation of a number of
technologically-proven renewable energy projects, which have been implemented in Pacific Island
Countries, in order to assess the potential for renewable energy to play a larger role in rural
electrification strategies in the region. These include projects that utilise technologies such as
