IMPACT EVALUATION ON THE ECOWAS CENTRE FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY (ECREEE), COVERING THE PERIOD FROM 2010 TO 2020

This impact evaluation aims to properly assess the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) as a regional hub to promote the transition of the region towards renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE). It covers the first 10 years of operation of the Centre (2010-2020) and the first phase of implementation of the ECOWAS Renewable Energy Policy (EREP) and the ECOWAS Energy Efficiency Policy (EEEP) published in 2013 with targets for 2020 and 2030.

The impact evaluation covers the period between the publication of the policies and 2020 and takes stock of the achieved progress in relation to the established RE&EE targets.

GN-SEC Call To Action “Clean Energy Without Borders for a World Without Hunger”

The Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centres (GN-SEC), coordinated by UNIDO in partnership with the regional economic communities, comprising 10 centres covering 120 countries and territories in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, has issued a joint call to action “Clean Energy Without Borders for a World Without Hunger” as a contribution to the World Without Hunger Conference (WWHC), co-organised by UNIDO, the African Union and the Government of Ethiopia from 5 to 7 November 2024 at the Adwa Memorial Center in Addis Ababa.
