Energy mission to the Republic of the Kiribati, 12-17 April 2003

Energy Mission to the Republic of Kiribati : The Energy Mission to Kiribati was carried out from the 12th to the 17th of April 2003. It was arranged to link in with the mission to the Marshall Islands. The objective of the mission was to work with staff of the Energy Planning Unit on energy projects as listed under the country Task Profiles. Opportunity was taken to meet with staff in other organisations and discuss with them issues relevant to the development of the energy sector in Kiribati.

Regional Energy Technology/ Information Database : The preparation of an information database of energy projects and technologies within the Pacific region and the establishment of guidelines for the updating and maintenance the database as a reference source for the future.

It was anticipated that the Regional Energy Information Database was to be available through the SOPAC web site. The database provides information on the whereabouts of reports on various energy projects, technologies, programs and reference material relevant to the Pacific region.
