This report was prepared by the World Bank in cooperation with the UNDP/ ESCAP Pacific Energy Development Programme  and The Asian Development Bank. This report is based on the findings of an energy assessment mission which visited Kiribati in February 1991.

The principal objective of the survey was to provide a baseline for household electrical energy use in order to create energy efficiency improvement measures that could be targeted to those areas of household energy use that are most likely to be economically reasonable and to make it easier to measure the benefits of any interventions that are made.

This study is to further develop a project proposal submitted by the Government of Tonga to transform its solar electrification programme into a financially sustainable one. This is to be carried out through the electrification with solar PV of the outer islands of the Ha'apai Group, utilising the lessons learnt from previous projects and using the project as a leverage for change to the existing projects and a model and funding incentive for new ones.

This report was prepared by Mads Brix Nielsen and Mikkel Sorensen of the Technical University of Denmark. Report served as the basis evaluating the Tonga Outer Island Solar Electrification Programme, an evaluation requested by the Tonga Energy Planning Unit (EPU) through the SPC and carried out as a midterm study at the Technical University of Denmark entitled "An Evaluation of Tonga's Outer Island Electrification Programme". 

A strategic pathway for TERM. This report was prepared by Mark Fogarty. The aim of this TIS REEEP Report is to contribute to the considerable effort on offer in attempting to reform Tonga’s Energy agenda. It is presented as a first third party analysis to comment on the progress to implement the Tonga Energy Road Map (TERM). The objective of TIS REEEP is to provide a framework for the Government of Tonga (GoT) which bridges in a strategic and operational sense between TERM and the key phases of TERM implementation.
