Pacific Islands Energy Policy (2004)

This document represents a regional consensus, affirmed at the 2004 Regional Energy Meeting in Madang, Papua New Guinea and is based on an earlier version of the regional energy policy affirmed in the Cook Islands in 2002 and with due consideration to the Rarotonga Declaration.

The review of the Pacific Islands Energy Policy has been coordinated by the Council of Regional Organisations in the Pacific (CROP) - Energy Working Group in close consultation with the Energy Officials from Pacific island countries and territories (PICTs).

Pacific Climate Change Finance Assessment Republic of the Marshall Islands National Assessment FINAL REPORT

The Climate Change Finance Assessment in the Republic of the Marshall Islands seeks to underline the experience of RMI in accessing and managing climate change finance, and to identify opportunities to:

1. Improve access to resources, so that RMI might be able to solicit further support for implementing its response to climate change; and

Pacific Climate Change Finance Assessment Nauru Case Study; Final Report 2013

Funding to support developing countries take action on climate change is projected to increase dramatically in the coming years. However, this increase in opportunities is being matched by an equally dramatic increase in complexity. This range of sources, each with their own set of rules and regulations, is often difficult to navigate, confusing and requires significant investment of a country’s limited resources to access and manage.

ADB Technical Assistance Consultant's Report : Republic of the Fiji Islands: Preparing the Renewable Power Sector Development Project

This project was prepared by John E. Hay of John E. Hay and Associates Ltd, New Zealand for the Fiji Department of Energy, Ministry of Works and Energy and Fiji Electricity Authority (FEA). This report represents an analysis of current and possible future climate related risks facing the Fiji Islands. The risk assesment is based on observed climate data for Nadi, sea-level data for Lautoka and global cilmate model (GCM) projections for a grid cell that covers much of Viti Levu. The intergrated findings are presented in the form of a climate risk profile (CRP).

Mitigation Analysis And Technology Needs Assessment - Mitigation

This report was prepared by the Gerhard Zieroth for the Cook Islands Second National Communication Project, National Environment Service of the Cook Islands. The objective of this report is to prepare detailed, yet concise, recommendations on mitigation activities and technology needs in the Cook Islands. Climate change magnifies the difficulty of the development challenge in a highly interdependent world where growing concerns about food security, water scarcity, and energy security go hand in hand with difficult issues of economic inequality, political power, and social justice.
