Mission report to the Federated States of Micronesia from June-July, 2007 as part of the REP-5 programme. The following is an overview of content captured in this report:

  1. Yap visit: from 10 to 15 June 2007, recommendations for Yap State PV mini-grids
  • Fadrai Project Review.
  • Asor Project Review. Both reviews focused on load estimate, sizing and cost estimate, recommendations, load forecast, PV system sizing and budget summary

Short term mission report to the FSM (Chuuk States) between November - December 2006. This report has been prepared as the Mission Report by Mr. Duncan Brewer, the PMU Short Term Expert (STE), who visited the FSM States of Chuuk, Yap and Pohnpei between the 19th November and the 20th December 2006. This report focuses on the mission to Chuuk State and to the outer island of Onoun.

Report of the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Indicators

The current revision presents, in annex IV, the final list of proposed Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)indicators for consideration by the Statistical Commission. The list of indicators in annex III to the present report contains the proposed global indicators that have been agreed by the Expert Group. Some indicators are marked with an asterisk, indicating that at the time of the submission of this report further work was required to better understand the existing proposals and reach consensus.

Support to the Energy Sector in Five ACP Pacific Islands (REP-5): Short Term Expert Mission to Kosrae 2006

The REP-5 programme “Support to the Energy Sector in 5 ACP Pacific Islands” is being implemented by the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat supported from the 9th European Development Fund (EDF). The programme focuses on renewable energy and energy efficiency activities.

This report has been prepared as the Mission Report by Mr. Etienne Sauvage, the PMU Short Term Expert (STE), who visited Kosrae between the 15th and the 18th of November 2006. This report briefly examines the objectives of the mission, the activities carried out, the outputs and the next steps required.

Pacific - Danish Environmental Education and Action Program - Feasibility Study Report of Phase 1

The Forum for Energy and Development (FED) of Denmark prepared a proposal for a Pacific-Danish Environmental Education and Action Program directed towards the South Pacific Region. The Danish Government financed the Feasibility Study with particular focus on the wind energy component of Phase 1. From 30 May to 21 June 1997, a Feasibility Team visited the South Pacific Region. Around this same time, the South Pacific Forum Secretariat Energy Division was transferred to a new Energy Unit under the South Pacific Applied Geoscience Commission (SOPAC).

Upolu KEMA Grid Study - Integrating PV Solar and Wind Generation with the EPC Electric System

DNV KEMA was asked to evaluate the maximum amount of photovoltaic (PV) and wind generation that could be add to the Electric Power Corporation (EPC) electrical network located on the island Upolu. The analysis was based on the network model that was provided by EPC and was used for the previous study completed by DNV-KEMA.

Samoa Wind Monitoring Station - Operations, Maintenance and Commissioning Report

Installation, supervision and training consultancy carried out with the Electric Power Corporation of Samoa and funded by the UNDP, Samoa. The Satitoa wind monitoring station was installed on the causeway leading to the wharf at Aleipata.

  • Location - Aleipata Port, Satitoa, Upolu in Samoa.
  • Commissioning date - 13th June 2007
