Regional Certificate 2 in Sustainable Energy (SE)

The Certificate 2 in Sustainable Energy is a generic qualification aimed at those who are working or seek entry to work in the Energy/Sustainable Energy sector working with Renewable Energy (RE) sources and Renewable Energy Technologies (RETs).

This qualification was developed by the Pacific Regional Sustainable Energy Industry Standards Advisory Committee (ISAC) for the Sustainable Energy Industry Association of the Pacific Islands (SEIAPI) to EQAP.

PCREEE Sustainable Energy Research Support Fund

The SPC Pacific Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (PCREEE) is supporting sustainable energy research. Each application must include the university-approved research proposal and must be submitted electronically to: Dr. Atul Raturi (atul.raturi@usp.ac.fj) and a copy to Solomone Fifita (Solomone F@spc.int).

Jaluit Wind Mast Installation and Commissioning Report

The North Pacific ACP (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific) Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Project (North-­‐REP) provided technical assistance and partnered with the Action for the Development of Marshall Islands Renewable Energies (ADMIRE) project to install wind resource monitoring equipment in Jaluit, Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Wind monitoring equipment and data collection is being carried out by the Marshalls Energy Company.

Final report for Review of the Outer Islands Electrification Programmes in RMI

The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Outer Islands’ Solar Electrification Programme is Government‐owned and operated through the Ministry of Resources and Development (R&D). The operation and maintenance of this programme is carried out by the Marshalls Energy Company (MEC)
under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Government (R&D) and MEC.

Final report for Review of the Outer Islands Electrification Programmes in FSM

The Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) consist of four States: Kosrae, Pohnpei, Chuuk and Yap, each, except for Kosrae that doesn’t have outer islands, have their own Outer Islands’ Solar Electrification Programme. These programmes are developed by the various States and included in the state energy action plans. All the four states have set‐up an energy workgroup in which the state utility plays an important role. There is no national outer island electrification programme in place.
