Call for applications: GWP Southern Africa Water Academy for Youth

Calling for all Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs in the Water, Energy and Food (WEF) sectors to enroll in the inaugural interactive and exciting entrepreneurship training; this training is for all eligible youth within the SADC member states. This virtual training is brought to you by the GWP Southern Africa Water Academy for Youth (SAF WAY), SADC and SAYWIN (Southern Africa Youth WEF Nexus Innovation Network). The training will be conducted in English and will be free for all successful applicants.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Registered students at an institution of higher learning, or a graduate in the Water, Energy or Food fields of study

  • Young professional and Young leaders active in the Water, Energy or Food sector

  • Aspirant entrepreneurs without experience and/or without registered businesses in the Water, Energy or Food sectors

  • Existing entrepreneurs with experience and registered businesses in the Water, Energy or Food sectors

  • Age 18 to 35 at the time of application closing date (extended 30 August 2021)

  • Registered citizen of one of the SADC member states

  • SAYWIN (Southern Africa Youth WEF Nexus Innovation Network) members will be favoured

  • Candidates need to be keen on volunteering to transfer the acquired skills to other youth in their countries

  • Candidates need to be keen to contribute to existing youth country Action Plans/identified initiatives

  • Candidates need to be open to participating in subsequent initiatives as part of the scaling and/or promotion of this programme
