Renewable Power Generation Cost in 2014

Renewable Power Generation Costs in 2014 is one of the most comprehensive studies yet made on the renewable energy price revolution in the power sector. Its findings are striking. Solar photovoltaic (PV) modules in 2014 cost three-quarters less than in 2009, while wind turbine prices declined by almost a third over the same period. The cost of electricity from utility-scale PV systems has fallen by around half since 2010.

The Age of Renewable Power - Designing National Roadmaps For a Successful Transformation

This report focuses on the role that national policy makers will play in this transformation process. The main challenge being that there is not a single roadmap or technology that provides the solution. Each country situation is unique, and local solutions need to be found to support the transition towards a renewables-based power system. It is therefore very important that policy makers work together with generators, local system operators and electricity suppliers to collectively design the future.

Quantification of the Power System Energy Losses in South Pacific Utilities Public Utilities Board, Kiribati – Tarawa Atoll System

KEMA, at the request of the Pacific Power Association (PPA), conducted an energy efficiency study titled: “Quantification of Energy Efficiency in the Utilities in South Pacific Utilities” for 10 Southern Pacific Island Utilities.

This report summarizes study results for the Public Utilities Board (PUB) on the island of Tarawa Atoll in the Republic of Kiribati.

PV Hybrid Mini-Grid for Chevalier College Abemama Atoll, Kiribati

Report highlights the technical description, project proponents and proposal for the PV hybrid mini-grid for Chevalier College in Abemama Atoll in Kiribati. This was a pilot project for duplication at outer island schools and the Pacific region as a whole. Report was funded by the Kiribati - Italy Cooperation Programme.
