Solar Pump Maintenance Workshop in Kiribati : Objectives: To train 20 outer islands water technicians on the maintenance of solar water pumps.
Evaluation of the Institutional Woodstoves in Kiribati, Phase II, Stage One : SOPAC had been providing financial assistance towards the design and the construction of woodstoves in Kiribati. This assistance was delivered through the FSP and it had a major training component aimed at enabling local people to build and maintain the woodstoves. Solar Cooking Demonstration Workshop in Kiribati : The use of solar energy in everyday cooking at a domestic level and in replacing the conventional ways of cooking using firewood in an open fire or on kerosene stoves was demonstrated via this project. SOPAC and the Ferris University (of Japan) implemented the activities in collaboration with the Energy Planning Unit in Kiribati.
