REN 21 has published 2013 report on Renewables Global Status. The report highlights remarks on the global demand on Renewable Energy (RE) assuring a steady rise. The new publication also reported that global investments in renewable energy reached $244 billion last year 2012. Notably, the report states an increase in number of countries embracing renewable energy, particularly in the developing world. Among 138 countries with renewables targets or policies in place, two-thirds are in the developing world. Besides, sharp increases took place in South Africa, Morocco, Mexico, Chile, and Kenya. The Middle East and Africa show the highest regional growth of 228% to $12 billion.
Notably, RCREEE contributed in data gathering of the report as Eng. Maged Mahmoud and Mrs. Amel Bida were recognized as lead researchers.
