“Heading for a Sustainable Energy Future 2050” was a central theme for the two-day 3rd Dii Desert Energy Conference in Berlin, Nov 7-8. Tareq Emtairah, RCREEE ED, participated in a panel session focusing on the renewable energy strategies of MENA countries and where do the countries stand with regard to defining renewable energy targets and deployment. The event was attended by 600 delegates with close to 100 delegates from the Arab Countries. The conference was also to witness the signing of the first European agreement with Morocco under the Desertec concept for export of renewable electricity from Morocco to Germany, however the agreement was stalled because of Spain’s pending approval.
