A Regional Bioenergy Strategy Framework was adopted at the ECOWAS Bioenergy Forum held on the 19th of March 2012. The strategy seeks to enable and promote domestic and foreign investments that help to address energy poverty prevailing in the region both in rural and peri-urban areas.
