Coordination meeting of SADC participants at the CTCN Regional Forum for National Designated Entities (NDEs)

The Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) held its Regional Forum for National Designated Entities (NDEs) of Africa, on 09-10 April 2018, in Nairobi, Kenya as part of the Africa Climate Week, along with the Africa Carbon Forum. NDEs from 47 African countries were invited to participate and shared lessons learned about past, ongoing and planned assistance provided by the CTCN.

In the margins of the CTCN Forum, a coordination meeting was held between CTCN, UNIDO, SACREEE and the participating National Designated Entities (NDEs) from SADC Member States. The meeting served to coordinate on regional initiatives on energy efficient lighting and appliances and also discussed opportunities for further regional cooperation in the area of Industrial Energy Efficiency. The meeting concluded with the strong support from all participants to strengthen the ties between the CTCN and SACREEE and encouraged the development of joint regional initiatives.
